Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent. Emergency services do a great job, but during extreme weather events they often cannot deal with all of the many calls for assistance they receive. Let’s better prepare for emergency and disaster events with resources in our community. Coorabell CRT aims to:

  • Promote a network of neighbours helping neighbours

  • Facilitate a safe “Community Hub” (CHub) at Coorabell Hall for members of the community to gather and support one another

  • Provide emergency electrical charging facilities (limited to a prioritized basis)

  • Provide access to a defibrillator and first aid kit

  • Support and assist community communication:

    • Through provision of Starlink Internet services

    • Amongst neighbours through a Coorabell Street Coordinator Network

    • As part of the Bangalow Resilience Network (BRN) CB radio network

  • Gather and share emergency information and resources so the community can:

    • understand what is happening

    • solve problems using the resources and skills available in the community

    • know how to help each other and stay safe.
